I started experimenting with making different types of hair butters a few years ago to use as a leave-in conditioner. This recipe is one I typically use once a week to add moisture before putting my fro into a protective hair style. I simply caress it into damp hair from root to ends then braid or twist it. It leaves my curls so soft and defined!
I love using Everyday Oil as a base because it already contains most of the oils I would choose to mix together. Combining EO with raw shea butter and aloe gel makes for a super simple and easy hair butter you can use as a leave-in conditioner, frizz control, or moisturizing hair mask.
What You Will Need:
1 ounce Everyday Oil
2 tablespoons Aloe Gel
3 tablespoons Shea Butter
Stirring utensil
Small mixing bowl
Medium bowl
Mixer/Blender
Small jar
Process:
Add shea butter to a small mixing bowl. Melt shea butter by adding hot water to a medium bowl and placing the small bowl on top. Stir shea butter until completely melted. Carefully add melted shea butter, Everyday Oil, and aloe gel into the mixer. Blend for 45 seconds or so. Pour mixture into jar. Apply to damp hair once solidified. Store in the refrigerator.
