Fall Refresh For The Home

September 20, 2024

Embrace this transitional moment by clearing out and simplifying your space, allowing the warm glow of fall to guide you through the changing seasons. Maybe that means limiting bringing lots of new things in to your home, maybe that means donating what you no longer use. Sharing your unneeded belongings may bring light to others.

Spaces we’re starting with:

TEA CUPBOARDS ~ With cooler weather approaching, it's the perfect time to refresh your tea cupboard. Remove expired or rarely used teas, and reorganize your favorites for easy access. Need a restock? We love this tea for wind down time.

SPICE RACKS ~ Spices have a limited shelf life so check those expiration dates. Maybe this is your sign to get a little witchy and boil those good smelling spices in water on the stovetop, toss in a fruit peel or two. Want to spice up your spices? This blend  is perfect for pumpkin pie, but it also adds big flavor and autumnal warmth to just about any baked goods (and PSL, of course).

COAT CLOSETS ~ Remove summer items, donate unused jackets, and make space for heavier coats, scarves, and gloves (these mittens!). Refresh these fall staples with a linen spray - like this one with something cozy like pine and hinoki essential oils.

PANTRY AND FRIDGE ~ Some folks are good about keeping up with these spots, but more often than not they get cluttered with unwanted items. Sweep these spaces for expired goods and keep the organizational tasks simple. It’s easy to get overwhelmed here.

BOOKSHELVES ~ If you're planning to settle in with a good book this season, decluttering or simply organizing your bookshelf can be a satisfying project. Donate books you no longer need, lend a book you love to a friend, and make room for new reads (A few of us are reading The God of The Woods, The Life Impossible and The Guest at the moment).

BATHROOM ~ One of our favorite spots, shouldn’t need too much work since your bottle of Everyday Oil is one of the only ones you need in there. Kidding, not kidding :)
