HURRICANE HELENE UPDATE

October 03, 2024

Our facility in Black Mountain, NC has been heavily impacted by Hurricane Helene. We are in repair mode and the storm has severely affected our ability to fulfill orders in a timely manner. If you would like to send help, we have links to hyper local organizations below.

ACTIVE ORDERS AND ACTIVE SUBSCRIPTIONS

If you have an active order that you need refunded, please email us at hello@everydayoil.com and we will help as soon as we can.

For upcoming subscription orders, you have options:

1. Adjust Your Delivery Date
If you prefer to delay your next shipment until we’re back up and running at full capacity, we encourage you to log into your account and update your delivery date. This will give you the flexibility to set a new shipping time that works best for you once we’ve resumed normal operations.

2. Ride Out the Delays
If you’re comfortable waiting for your order (both one time and subscription), no action is needed on your part. We will ship your order as soon as we are able, and we’ll keep you updated with any new information about fulfillment times.

A NOTE FROM EMMA 💛

This has been a very surreal and challenging time. There’s so much sadness and devastation. But there is also so much beauty and kindness in the way the community has shown up for each other.

I’ve met more neighbors in the past 5 days than I have in the past 5 years. People that have power have charging stations set up outside their houses with extension cords. Yesterday, someone I’ve never met who has a well let the Everyday Oil team take a shower at his house after cleaning the warehouse all day. Today at the warehouse a stranger showed up with an entire pallet of water from Noda for us to distribute to neighbors. Someone on my block manages an Italian restaurant and he cooked meatball subs all day long for anybody that was hungry. When he ran out he switched to pasta. Someone from the SBTDC we have met once drove from Lake Junaluska yesterday and showed up at the warehouse and worked all day cleaning up with us. We’ve been gathering around the radio listening to the daily updates from the city. People were taking notes and distributing them to anyone who didn’t hear it. The phones are starting to work now. The streets are quieter. There’s more water and gas and food getting in, thankfully. But I’ll miss my neighbors playing ball on the street and gathering on all the corners. Those who can are leaving and so, so, so many people are still in desperate situations.

It’s hard to even describe how bad this is. The level of destruction is unimaginable. Entire towns have been lost. Many of our favorite fellow businesses lost everything. We have to keep moving and helping each other and we appreciate all of the support from you all. We are grateful we are all safe and our heart goes out to everyone who has lost loved ones and livelihoods.
